Quick Answer

Yes, working with a TikTok Realtor can be a great choice. But only if they have real experience, strong reviews, and local Toronto expertise to back up their content.

Why This Question Keeps Coming Up in Toronto

If you’re a first-time buyer, you’ve probably come across Realtors on TikTok (maybe even me).

I share:

  • Property tours across Toronto
  • Tips for first-time buyers and sellers
  • Straightforward, no-fluff advice through talking-head videos

My goal? I want to provide real value to buyers and sellers, not just obtain views. The property tours are great for attracting attention and going viral, but it’s my talking head videos that I care about most. These videos provide value to buyers and sellers in Toronto, and it’s through these that I begin to build trust with my audience.

But here’s the honest truth:

You should absolutely question whether someone you found on social media is the right person to guide one of the biggest financial decisions of your life.

Why I Built An Audience on TikTok

I started posting real estate content on TikTok in February of 2023. Why?

I had spent years building up my expertise working with clients and continually educating myself with knowledge from seminars, webinars, Google, and taking multiple courses and obtaining many additional real estate designations.

I knew I was a great Realtor. But in a pool of 70,000 Toronto Realtors, essentially nobody knew who I was.

I didn’t have tens of thousands of dollars for large-scale marketing, and even if I did – that would just show my face and contact information, it wouldn’t show who I am.

TikTok has an amazing algorithm, and I noticed that before I started creating content of my own, I was seeing videos from other Toronto Realtors, and I was getting to know them through their videos. This was a bit of an “ah-ha!” moment, and I realized that this was how I was going to get my face and name out there, and attract clients who genuinely felt a connection with who I am and how I present information – and that this would help me build trust with them one video at a time.

I therefore committed to posting one video a day for a year in order to build my presence and my audience. It worked, I amassed over 150,000 followers, and I’m consistently meeting new clients who found me on TikTok that I’m helping buy and sell their homes.

A great side effect? I now have a huge following that see my videos – and this really benefits my seller clients. I’m able to push their listings out into the world, organically, and reach a much larger audience than traditional real estate marketing.

Okay, enough about me, let’s continue with an honest breakdown of the pros and cons of finding your Realtor on TikTok.

The Pros of Working With a TikTok Realtor

1. You Get Education Before You Even Reach Out

One of the biggest advantages? You’re not going in blind.

Through TikTok, you can:

By the time you connect with the Realtor, you’re already more informed than most buyers.

2. You Can “Pre-Interview” Your Realtor

Unlike traditional referrals, TikTok lets you:

  • Watch how someone communicates
  • See how they explain complex topics
  • Decide if their style and personality matches yours

That matters more than people think.

Real estate is a long process. You want someone you actually understand and trust.

3. Transparency Builds Trust Faster

When a Realtor consistently shows up online:

  • Sharing advice
  • Breaking down deals
  • Talking about mistakes buyers make

…it creates a level of transparency that didn’t exist before.

That’s something I’ve intentionally built my platform around. It’s one of the reasons why I’ve created so many buying resources and selling resources on my website.

The Cons (And What You Need to Watch For)

1. Not Every TikTok Realtor Has Real Experience

This is the part that isn’t always apparent from watching a Realtor’s videos.

Some agents:

  • Are brand new
  • Focus more on content than clients
  • Haven’t navigated complex deals yet

Content does not equal competence.

2. You Might Not Be Working With Who You Think

In some cases:

  • Leads get passed to team members
  • Assistants handle most of the process
  • The person you see online isn’t your main contact

That’s why I always make this clear with my clients: If you reach out to me, you’re working directly with me.

3. Toronto Is Too Complex for Surface-Level Advice

Short-form content is helpful, but it can’t cover everything.

Toronto’s market includes:

  • Condo vs freehold nuances
  • Multiple offer strategies
  • Building-specific risks
  • Micro-neighbourhood pricing shifts

You need guidance that goes deeper than a 60-second video.

Where I Stand as a TikTok Realtor

I’m not just someone who posts content.

I’m an active Realtor working with:

  • First-time buyers
  • First-time sellers
  • Clients navigating Toronto’s competitive market

My TikTok content focuses on:

  • Real education
  • Property tours that give you real insight into Toronto homes and floorplans
  • Simple explanations of complex decisions

Because at the end of the day: My reputation isn’t built on views. It’s built on positive client experiences and results.

What Clients Say After Finding Me on TikTok

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Client Experience #1

“Yael is an outstanding real-estate professional! After following her insightful content for more than a year, we finally reached out for help navigating Toronto’s chaotic housing market – and she exceeded every expectation. Yael quickly focused our search on a neighbourhood that ticked every box, arranged viewings for every property we wanted to see, and backed each visit with clear market insights and fair-market-value estimates. When we found “the one,” she guided us through crafting a winning offer, fine-tuning it until we secured our dream home in Midtown Toronto. Professional, knowledgeable and genuinely friendly from start to finish – Yael made the whole journey seamless, and we couldn’t be more grateful.”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Client Experience #2

“Working with Yael on our first condo purchase was a dream! Yael is extremely knowledgeable about real estate and gave us valuable feedback with pricing, layouts, condo fees, and buildings in the Yonge and Eglinton area. She replied quickly to all our questions and inquiries and gave us great recommendations for our mortgage broker and lawyer. I would recommend Yael to all my friends and family and will definitely reach out to her again for any future purchases.”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Client Experience #3

“Amazing experience with Yael. She went above and beyond of what we expected. Incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, having detailed answers to all our questions. Not only did she work with us on the sale and purchase, but she also provided resources and recommendations for (and assisted in coordinating) the painting, staging, lawyers, and in-unit fixes.”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Client Experience #4

“Yael made us feel immediately at ease. From the moment we met, we felt like we had been longtime friends. Our house hunting process wasn’t particularly long and that is thanks in big part to Yael’s ability to narrow in on our needs and wants and ensure we only saw homes that checked all the boxes. She managed our expectations but never compromised on service. The process of buying a home is daunting but Yael made it easy. She is incredibly communicative and patient.”

How to Decide If a TikTok Realtor Is Right for You

Whether it’s me or someone else, here’s exactly what you should do:

✅ Ask About Real Experience
  • How many clients have they helped in Toronto?
  • What types of properties do they specialize in?
✅ Look Beyond the Content
  • Reviews
  • Testimonials
  • Actual deal experience
✅ Have a Real Conversation

TikTok is step one. A proper call or meeting is where you:

  • Ask questions
  • Understand their process
  • See if there’s a real fit

The Taboo Truth Most People Avoid

Some agents use TikTok mainly to:

  • Build a personal brand
  • Generate leads
  • Prioritize content over client results

That’s not everyone. But it’s enough that you should be aware of it.

The right agent balances both. Visibility AND real-world performance.

What First-Time Buyers in Toronto Actually Need

Let’s simplify this. You don’t need the most famous Realtor.

You need one who:

  • Knows Toronto inside and out
  • Explains things clearly
  • Protects your money and your decisions
  • Negotiates like it’s their own deal

Final Thoughts. Should You Work With a TikTok Realtor?

Yes. And in many cases, it can be a huge advantage.

But only if that agent can back up their content with:

  • Experience
  • Results
  • Real client success stories

Bottom Line

  • TikTok is a great place to discover Realtors
  • It should not be the only reason you choose one
  • The right agent will combine education, transparency, and proven results

If you found me on TikTok, the goal is simple. Give you value first, and earn your trust second.
